One month later....

I've been back in Blighty for just over a month now and actually it's really not been such a 'blighty' time.  I left Salt Lake City with a little cold front going through the area and we had snow flurries where I was wrapped up with cold weather clothes only to arrive in London where they temps were hitting a record high!  Sweating as I walked through the jetway, lugging my heavy leather coat and 2 backpacks thinking to myself "I hope my driver has air conditioning in his car" and "I hope he's wearing deodorant".  He didn't and I kept the window down to avoid the other problem.

After a long drive back to the other side of a very warm London we made it to the flat and some very happy dogs.  I think had they been a little younger I would have had some puddles to wipe up.  They were so happy to see me, it took a bit longer for Pepper to calm down.  Unpacked and relaxed and more important got out of the cold weather clothes!  Strange weather for April.

Since I've been back the weather hasn't changed much, mostly dry so I really won't complain about it. Actually loved it!  I know the locals aren't used to having it be so dry and warm in April and May but it did remind me of Los Angeles weather.  Yesterday was the first real rain storm to come through and I didn't mind it.  The rain here is very different from Los Angeles and even Cecilia.  I suppose the geography of the UK makes it different as the weather systems move across faster than it does in the states, or so I imagine.

We've had a royal wedding with loads of crowds and the Obama's came to town just a few days ago with a lot of attention.  We avoided them both, mostly because of the crowds for the wedding were unimaginable and we weren't invited to either events.  We could have had a good time at the Cameron/Obama BBQ at #10 Downing Street.  Kickin back with a few pints and some wine coolers while the bangers were roasting on the pit.  I'm sure there were jokes between the leaders of powerful countries about their choice of board shorts they had on.  You think David Cameron wore a British made pair?  Obama probably had on Hollister or A&F brand.  Michelle probably was workin some J. Crew and grinning inside about how much better she looked than any other woman there.

I've been looking for work and had a bit of luck with one meeting with a recruiter.  The job is out in the Wembley area, that's across the city from where we live but that's fine.  We live near the overground train that goes in that direction.  Now if I could only make the cut for an actual interview with that company.  Meanwhile, I am still applying online for various Helpdesk and Service Desk jobs with hopes that something will come up.

We went for a walk through Chiswick with friends last weekend.  Walking along the Thames and seeing some beautiful old homes while stopping off at a few pubs along the way.
